Rainwater Pump Stations support is handled around the actual pump station arrangement: chamber type, pumped material, pump duty, controls, alarms, valves, rising main, access, ground conditions and whether the work is repair, servicing, refurbishment, replacement or new installation.
Rainwater and storm water lifting
Rainwater pumping needs a different design approach from foul sewage pumping. The pump duty is normally driven by rainfall intensity, storage volume, discharge restriction, outfall level and the consequences of surcharge or flooding.
Controls, alarms and maintenance
A rainwater pump station still needs reliable level control, accessible pumps, non-return valves, isolation valves, a high level alarm where appropriate and a serviceable chamber. Leaves, silt and debris can also create maintenance issues.
Linked surface water support
For broader storm water and clean water systems, see our surface water pump station page. Where excavation, drainage and civil installation are needed, Alton Facility Services can support the civils package.
