Where single pump stations may be suitable
A single pump arrangement may be used for smaller domestic or micro pump station duties where the consequence of failure is manageable and the system can be serviced easily. It must still have suitable storage, access and alarm consideration.
Limitations of single pump systems
Where a pump station serves multiple properties, commercial premises, critical drainage or high consequence locations, a twin pump duty/standby system is often more appropriate. The right choice depends on risk, usage and downtime tolerance.
Upgrade options
Some single pump systems can be upgraded with better controls, alarms, replacement pumps or in some cases a twin pump replacement chamber.
